Sustainability isn’t something we add as an afterthought. It is a fundamental part of how we design, produce, and develop – from raw material to finished product.

Built right from the start

Choosing a bathroom module from Podcomp is a choice for sustainability. It is 40% lighter than traditional modules, resulting in less material use, lower transport emissions, and reduced structural load. The module consists of 45% recycled material, is factory-produced with minimal waste, and is designed for a long lifespan.

The waterproofing and floor drains are integrated directly into the composite material – not applied on-site. This eliminates the risk of water damage that would otherwise require demolition, long drying times, and reconstruction. This is beneficial for the property owner – and the environment.

Through our research projects, we actively work on the next step: increasing the proportion of recycled content and replacing fossil-based materials with renewable raw materials.

Podcomp is ISO-certified for environmental and quality management. This means we are constantly improving our operations through quality-assured processes, consistent product quality, and a steadily decreasing environmental footprint.

Our environmental goals guide our material choices and waste management, and influence which research projects we choose to join. Our quality management is built on continuous improvement with a focus on “getting it right from the start” – efficiently and with minimal waste.

Our organization is flat, and everyone is involved. In 2019, we became the first private company in Norrbotten to win the Equality Award (Jämställdhetspriset) – proof that a serious commitment to the work environment is felt within the company and recognized from the outside.

Controlled and Certified

ISO-certified Environmental and Quality Management

Podcomp is certified according to ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 9001:2015 for quality management. These certifications signify our commitment to continuous operational improvement, quality-assured processes, and lower environmental impact.

Byggvarubedömningen – Recommended

Our bathroom modules are assessed by Byggvarubedömningen based on chemical content, life cycle, and social sustainability. The “Recommended” rating is independent proof that we deliver products that make sustainable building easier.

RISE Type Approval

Our bathroom modules and wetroom floors are type-approved by RISE with established production control. The type approval ensures that products meet technical requirements and that manufacturing is strictly monitored. (RISE SCO 122-16, RISE SCO 323-19)

RISE Emission Measurement – Class M1

Emission measurements in our bathroom modules have been conducted by RISE in a finished bathroom installed in a multi-family house. The result achieved the “Recommended Emission Class M1” rating, meaning the modules meet the strictest requirements for indoor air quality. (RISE 0100152-129048)

SundaHus – Class A

Our bathroom modules are assessed in SundaHus. Class A is the highest rating, indicating a product with no negative environmental or health characteristics.

Approved for Environmentally Certified Projects

The Våtrumsmodul Totaltät (Fully Sealed Wetroom Module) is a declared item in the Supply Chain Declaration Portal (SCDP) for New Buildings Gen. 4.
